Lisa Marks

Founder & Principal Consultant

Lisa’s background spans small-business startup and operations, financial management, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, automation, and business systems. That breadth matters because the problems business owners face rarely fit neatly into a single category.

Her experience includes helping small businesses move from idea to operating reality — working through business planning, registration and setup, banking and insurance coordination, day-to-day processes, and the systems needed to keep work moving. Her financial-management background also gives her a practical understanding of how weak processes, poor visibility, administrative waste, and control gaps affect the financial side of a business.

Today, Lisa combines that business and financial perspective with cybersecurity, AI, automation, and systems expertise to help owners identify what needs improvement, understand their options, and choose a practical path forward. Clients work directly with Lisa throughout the agreed engagement.

AIS was built around a simple reality: small businesses are rarely short on effort. More often, owners are carrying processes that grew one urgent decision at a time, tools that were never fully configured, and administrative work that keeps expanding.

Based in Southwest Missouri, AIS serves clients throughout the United States. In-person support is available locally and by travel when appropriate, with remote service available nationwide.

We start with how the business actually works. Where a simpler process or better use of existing tools can solve the problem, that comes first. Where AI, automation, cybersecurity, or other technology can add real value, we use it carefully and explain what it is doing. The goal is practical improvement: less friction, better visibility, and more control over the business.

Professional boundaries

AIS helps clients identify business, technology, operational, and risk-related issues and may point out when a matter should be reviewed by a qualified professional. AIS does not provide legal, tax, accounting, insurance, or other licensed professional advice. When specialized professional guidance is appropriate, we will recommend that you involve the right attorney, CPA or tax professional, licensed insurance professional, or other qualified specialist.

How We Operate

Plain language

If a recommendation cannot be explained to the person doing the work, it is not ready.

Smallest useful change

We look first for the simplest practical improvement that solves the problem and creates worthwhile value — using what you already have whenever it makes sense.

Honest scoping

We would rather turn down work than sell an engagement a business does not need.

Respect for the operator

You know your business. Our job is to give you room and better systems, not to replace your judgment.
