How We Work

How AIS works: a practical path from business problem to implementation.

Every engagement starts with a simple question: what is the most practical way to solve the problem? We look first at what you already have and consider simpler, lower-cost options when they make sense. Then we recommend the solution that offers the best overall value for your needs, priorities, budget, risk, and ability to maintain it.

Our Process

  1. Free 30-minute consultation

A conversation, not a pitch. We use the time to understand the business problem, your existing tools and processes, and whether AIS is likely to be useful. No sensitive system access or sensitive client or business data is needed for this call.

  2. Right-sized recommendation

We recommend the smallest assessment that can reasonably give you useful answers. If the consultation shows that you do not need a paid assessment at all, we will tell you that too.

  3. Assessment and discovery

We review the workflows, tools, people, and supporting information included in the agreed assessment scope — not unlimited discovery or access.

  4. Written findings and priorities

Plain-language documentation of what we found, why it matters, and what to address first. Recommendations prioritize the lowest-cost reasonable, highest-value improvements before larger investments.

  5. Choose what happens next

Your assessment is useful whether you implement the recommendations yourself or ask AIS to help. Any implementation work is separately scoped and priced.

  6. Follow-up when appropriate

Where included in the agreed engagement, we review how the change is working, address agreed support items, and identify any next priorities.

Four Ways AIS Can Help

Advise

AIS provides recommendations, guidance, planning, and expert input while you or your team perform the implementation.

Teach & Co-Build

AIS works alongside you or your team, teaching the process while helping build and configure the solution together.

Build & Handoff

AIS builds or configures the agreed solution, documents it, and hands it over so you or your team can operate and maintain it.

Build & Manage

AIS builds the agreed solution and continues to manage or support it under a separately defined ongoing service agreement.

Clear scope. Clear expectations.

If AIS configured something incorrectly within the agreed scope, that is a fix. If requirements, workflows, functionality, or preferences change after scope approval, that is a change. Material changes are reviewed with you before additional work or cost is incurred.

  • A fix corrects AIS work that was configured incorrectly within the agreed scope.
  • A change introduces new requirements, altered workflows, expanded functionality, or revised preferences after scope approval.

Service area and information handling

Local and remote

Based in Southwest Missouri, serving clients throughout the United States. In-person support is available locally and by travel when appropriate, with remote service available nationwide.

Careful with your information

We do not request passwords, credentials, financial account information, protected client records, or other sensitive business data through our website, booking process, or free consultation. If a purchased engagement genuinely requires sensitive information or system access, we establish the appropriate scope and secure handling process before requesting it.
